SEE FIXTURES Good luck everyone xx As the sunshine has come out this weekend it's a good time to tell you all about the summer fete.
A netball tournament mixed with stalls/ bbq/ drinks/ music/ raffle and much more. What more could you want?? Saturday 18th May 10.15am. Come along and support the local club !! See you there.... We are very excited by our first Netball open day. The day will give anyone a chance to come along and try out their netball skills whether they are a complete beginner or they are an experienced player looking for a new team!
The Open day is being held at St Francis school, 11am until 2pm. Anyone over the age of 16 is welcome to join us. Pewsey Netball team will be there to play some games and do some fun drills with you. Hope to see you there! Members of the club dolled themselves up in 1920's glamour for a night out in Marlborough at the Burbage Cricket Club's Peaky Blinders Ball.
It was a fantastic event and I think it's safe to say there were a few sore heads (and feet!) on Sunday morning. The girls were disappointed however that there was no special appearance from Thomas Shelby himself... Pewsey Blacks have had a rocky start to the season being promoted from division 2 up to 1 and loosing all of the defence. Suzie Samuels - congratulations on the birth of your new baby girl. Hanna Daw - congratulations on your second pregnancy. Alice Nutland - we wish you all the best in your future achievements. After a reshuffle and bringing Sara Mills up to GK, coach Becka into GD and bringing Sinem from GA/GS to WD. The team have started well but face some tough teams! They currently sit 7th in the table. Pewsey Reds have had a solid start to their only second season! They have had some tough games - few movements around within the team. Captain Lesley and Vice Kim have led this team out strongly and hopefully pushing up the table into the latter part of the season! GOOD LUCK TO ALL THE GIRLS FOR THE REST OF THE SEASON!! Welcome back ladies.
Who can't wait to get back on court?? MEEEEEE. Training starts again Wednesday 29th August. The committee have bought some very exciting new equipment which we will be using first session back in a well liked CIRCUITS. Two teams again this year, new faces to the club, old faces back, new committee members. HOW EXCITING. Happy Season 2018 Everyone. 11 Pewsey ladies played in a fun versatility tournament in Devizes in order to say goodbye to a lady who has umpired/coached Devizes teams for years. She even taught our coach netball at the age of 8!
The sun was shining, drinks flowing, picnic blankets out and a really fun day (despite a few weirdly shaped sun tans/burns the next day). We came 10th out of 14th and didn't win any raffle prizes (not even any alcohol)!! Onwards and upwards. Becky and Sinem are organising a Charity Tournament of our own so EYES PEELED for news. Pewsey Black team face three hard games coming up which could determine if they get promoted or not.

Blacks win 43-22 against Holt Gold POM Sophie Hobbs Reds win 26-23 against Chippenham 5 POM Sydney Short WELL DONE GIRLS PEWSEY BLACK TEAM faced an undefeated Westbury
On a cold Tuesday in January, Pewsey Blacks faced Westbury Wildcats who were top of the league, undefeated in 6 games. Apprehensive and missing Sophie Hobbs, C we fought hard from the start. Lauren Cook and Elaine Haines started the shooting off incredibly against tight defence. The defensive triplet of Hannah Daw, Suzie Samuels and Alice Nutland were back together again causing Westbury stress and forcing into their shooters. Rachel Crossey and Becky Salmon working well together in the C court helped the ball get into our shooters with ease, then Sinem Zelzele into GS easing the shots through the hoop. WE WON. Beating Westbury 37-17, preventing them from a point. Well done to all of them team and Suzie Samuels for POM! |
